John Fletcher - John Fletcher

I am a recent graduate of the University of Warwick in the UK, where in 2009 I received a first class master's degree in mathematics. My main mathematical interests are abstract algebra and algebraic topology, but I am also interested in real and complex anaysis. I also take a keen interest in language learning, in particular French and, more recently, Polish; and reading non-fiction, especially travel writings and Chinese history.

I am a former track and field athlete training under the formidable Wilf Paish, and competing from 1997 to 2005 in the 100m, 200m and long jump disciplines from district to national level. I was, in 2002, the national indoor under 17 long jump champion, and have won several gold medals at both regional and county level in all three events.

I am fairly new to writing and have been writing until now exclusively for personal pleasure, but I hope now to make some of my writing available to a wider audience.
